Mornings are usually your most important hours of a day. Why? Because your morning decides how the rest of your day will go. If the start of your day is bad, the rest of your day will likely go bad as well. So, it's important to have a proper start every morning.

And how do you do that? Follow these simple tweaks to improve your mornings.

It's best to have a habit of waking early, but if that doesn't work, then it's fine too. These tips are given assuming you wake up at 6 am everyday but if that's not your usual time, then tweak the list accordingly. The gist remains the same.

1. Eat a proper breakfast

I cannot stress how important this habit is. It seems like most people these days are used to not having a proper breakfast in the morning. Some outright skip breakfast almost every day. But this is hurting you more than you realize.

It's really important you have a proper breakfast everyday, not just a skimpy one. A good breakfast gives your body the right energy you need to survive the rest of your day. It will give you more energy and you will feel better throughout the rest of the day.

2. No phone/laptop before 8 am

Don't even touch any phone/laptop right after you wake up. Usually, we have a habit of checking messages and emails right after we wake up. It's a bad habit that leads to a stressful start in the morning. Refrain form checking your phone early in the morning, at least before you've had a proper breakfast and some mediation/exercise/yoga/jogging.

3. Drink a glass of water right after you wake up

Drinking a glass of water within 15 minutes of waking up will boost your metabolism in the morning. It's a great habit, trust me. Even better, dry drinking orange juice or something.

4. Some light exercise/yoga/meditation

You've probably heard this advice before, but most likely never followed through. Probably because exercising every morning feels like a chore and you just cannot keep up with your habit everyday.

That's understandable. Which is why, follow this alternative. Try to do some light exercise/yoga/mediation as opposed to something rigorous. This is just to energize you early in the morning.

5. Write your goals for the day

If you haven't done this the night before, do it early in the morning. Write down a few achievable goals clearly.  It could be on a piece of a paper or your phone, whatever works for you.

6. Do not multitask

Don't try and be a superhuman. Multitasking won't solve all the problems of your life, or any of them. Try to deal with one task at a time. Don't rush. It will only hamper the quality of your work.

7. Do all the creative work first

Mornings are the time when you'll be the least tired and most focused. So do all the creative works in the morning to have the best results. Leave all the non-creative or recurring works for the rest of the day.

8. Schedule your day in advance

Having a clear schedule will help you deal with your work more easily. This way, you'll have a clear calculation of your time and how you'll spend it. And keep in mind, do not multitask (#6).

A proper start in the morning can make all the difference. So plan yours accordingly.
